Wang Nian-Dong

January 29, 2008

I went to college in 1998 at the oil painting department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. I had more time to concentrate on the history and techniques of Western oil painting. I learned about art from the Middle Ages and subject matters like religion. I learned about the social background in Europe at that time, the artistic trends and the ideologies. This helped me tremendously as I absorbed the information and was able to look at traditional art from a whole new angle.

Wang Nian-Dong is a Chongqing-based artist in China.
