Located at the border between Switzerland, France, and Germany, Art Basel’s location is the perfect representation of the vast collection of modern and contemporary works throughout the show. Uniting over 300 galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa, under one roof, every artistic medium is represented at Basel. Eight show sectors include a manifold of pieces by established and emerging artists, curated projects, site-specific experiential work, and film. In addition to visual art, stimulating talks and panel discussions allow visitors to expand their knowledge of artistic practice. It serves as an interesting window into the international art world, and the art market, which are key components to the Basel experience. Neighboring the vicinity, exhibitions and events are offered by cultural institutions to further create an exciting, region wide art week.
